Start the Window System in Safe Mode, Click à Start à Run à type “msconfig”
Click Services à and uncheck ‘Symantec Endpoint Protection’ as shown below
Restart the system in normal mode and uninstall “Symantec Endpoint Protection” and reinstall it again after restart.

I reinstalled SEP Management Console on the primary server the past couple days - I wonder if this has anything to do with it. My other servers did not have any kind of issues like this.

Thanks! This worked really well. I actually couldn't even boot my computer at first. I downloaded a free Vista recovery disc from neosmart and ran the system repair. Then I was able to log in, but only to get a continuous BSOD. I found this website luckily and it was a quick and effective solution.
My friends laptop was receiving a "Page Fault Fault In Nonpaged Area" BSoD when booting Windows Vista 64-bit in normal mode. I was able to boot into safemode with networking, and the memory had already tested fine, so I suspected a software/driver issue.
I enabled logging, and found that the stop was the SRTSPL.SYS file. I followed the fix that was linked here, and it worked perfectly! It took quite a while, but there was licensed software that would have been a pain to reinstall.
Thank you very much for providing the link to the fix, it is well documented, and very clear on what needs to be done (although some of the location names are different in Vista than XP).
Sorry, I mixed up my two sites that I used. This fix does indeed fix the issue, but due to other complications with the laptop, I had to use this site's guide to manually remove Symantec:

I actually had error: SRTSPL64.sys after doing a RESTORE (vista 64) which gave me the blue screen error. Then I followed your instructions above (for SRTSPL.sys) which fixed problem I was having!

Thanks a bunch. This led me to the right spot, but I had to make a slightly different fix. The box was already unchecked, but I saw that Endpoint was running, even though it was disabled and I was in safe mode. I went to the startup tab and unclicked it, then went to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services, and stopped it. When I rebooted, the problem went away.
