The govt. is all set to start the 3G e-auction (expected to fetch $10bn) today and as per the schedule, potential service providers will have to submit their technical and financial bids by Sep 22. Both state run MTNL and BSNL have already been granted the spectrum and BSNL has gone ahead and launched it’s 3G service in Pune.
The current 3G service from BSNL allows subscribers video-call facility, free-of-charge to 2,000 customers (pilot project).
